DEPARTMENT OF AQUACULTURE NUTRITION AND FEED 

 

Department of Aquaculture Nutrition and feed was etablished on 05/03/2015 according to the etablishment of Faculty of Fisheries

The Department of Aquaculture Nutrition and feed offers courses in levels of Bachelors and Masters (International Master of Aquaculture; International Master of Food Science and Technology) for the discipline of Aquaculture and other specialities.

Beside of the teaching activity, the members of Department are frequently involved in collaborative international and national projects. Fundamental and applied researches are interdisciplinary and carried out within all departments of the Faculty of Fisheries as well as other reseach organizations.

About the staff, Department of Aquaculture Nutrition and feed includes 06 members with 01 Assoc. PhD, 01 PhD., and 04 masters in which there are 04 lecturer-researchers, 01 researcher, and 01 technician.

About the facility, Department of Aquaculture Nutrition and feed is equiped a system of practical laboratory, analysis laboratory, and wet-lab system.

In addition, Department of Aquaculture Nutrition and feed provides the services such as:

 

  • Digestibility measurement of ingredients in aquaculture feed (protein, energy, lipid, and minerals)
  • Advice about the protocol of microalgae culture in aquaculture hacheries
  • Advice about the live feed used in aquaculture hacheries (Moina, rotifer, artemia…)
  • Advice about the farming technology and procedure to reduce the feed cost and environmental pollution
  • Advice about the application of several high technology, RAS in quaculture
  • Advice about the boosting of immune response and disease resistance in aquatic animals
