Nutrition, feed and aquaculture
Objectives
The key research team on aquatic nutrition, feed, and aquaculture was established with the goal of researching, publishing, and transferring technology related to aquatic feed, nutrition, and aquaculture. From there, apply the research results into education and production to contribute to the development of sustainable fisheries.
Major acitivities
- Research on the beneficial effects of immunostimulants, probiotics, prebiotics, medicinal plants… on aquatic animal health, food safety, and environmental protection.
- Research on the effective use of aquafeed ingredients (based on digestibility and nutrient metabolism) in aquaculture species.
- Research to improve the aquafeed efficiency, feed saving processes, protect the environment, and the disease prevention.
- Research on the etabilsment of standards and regulations on aquafeeds and food safety.
- Successfully building a high-tech aquaculture model to save feed and reduce waste from feed into the environment.
- Technology of reproduction of aquatic species such as snakehead carp, common carp, freshwater..
- High-quality, disease-free breeding technology
- Traditional aquaculture technology, high technology applied in aquaculture.
- The technology of channel catfish in cages to minimize diseases and improve survival rate.
- The focusing aquatic species: Tilapia, carp, channel, pompano, pangasius, rohu, salmon, freshwater snail, clam, sea worm, ornamental fish…
